Sergeant Cecil Danks was the son of William Henry and Gertrude Danks; husband of Maude Elizabeth Danks, of Huyton-Roby, Lancashire.

Cecil had originally joined the Royal Air Force on the 16th of September 1918, just before his 19th birthday. The war would end just two months later and by December he was transferred to RAF reserves and finally discharged in April 1920. A few months later he would marry Maud Elizabeth Court from Redditch, Worcestershire England. They would have eight children.

During November 1937 Cecil enlisted again into the Royal Air Force at the age of 37 for four years. He would though get caught up in war service which lengthened his time in the service.

Unfortunately, on the 30th of January 1945, during icy/snowy conditions Cecil was hit by a motor vehicle and fractured his skull, this injury took his life.
