Graves, D E (Donald Eric)
Ordinary Seaman Graves was born on the 13th July 1921 in Buntingford, Hertfordshire. He served on H.M.S. La Malouine and passed away at sea suffering from Haemorrhagic Purpura.
His ship had originally belonged to the French and was seized by the Royal Navy on the 3rd of July 1940 and then commissioned into service with them. It was part of convoy HG.57, 2nd Escort Group, operating out of the port of Londonderry. It had been there since January 1941.
A few months previously along with HMS Anemone found the two ships possibly sinking an Italian submarine called RM Nani. The Italian authorities have denied this as it was too far off its course.
