Liddiard, F H (Frederick Harold)
Private Frederick Liddiard was the son of Harry and Elsie Liddiard, of Newtown, Hungerford, Berkshire. He served with the 6th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment.
The 6th battalion was a territorial battalion and had been quickly raised after the fall of Dunkirk to help defend Northern Ireland from German invasion, they had been based in Coleraine from October 1940. They would never serve outside the UK during the war.
Frederick was driving a motor bike on the 7th of April 1941 through Templepatrick when he was involved in a serious accident. Unfortunately, he sustained severe injuries to multiple parts of his body, including the head. He passed away almost instantly.
