Serjeant Bernard Fenton’s wife was Mary Fenton of 16 Waterloo Street, Londonderry and parents Herbert and Dinah Fenton. He served with the 7th Battalion of the Leicestershire Regiment.

His battalion would remain in the UK until September 1942 when it left for India and would serve in Major-General Orde Wingate’s Chindit’s behind enemy lines until 1944. Unfortunately, Serjeant Bernard Fenton passed away in Grimsby, Lincolnshire before this as the result of an accident.

Bernard was buried from his home in Waterloo Street during Wednesday the 16th of October 1941. No further information is presently available.
