Petty Officer Stoker Thomas Leask was from Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He is also listed as serving on H.M.S. Vivid.[1] His date of birth is the 2nd of July 1892 and he passed away in Londonderry’s hospital after suffering from compression (swelling) of the brain, possibly caused by injury.
His last ship H.M.S. Anchusa[2] was sunk later that year on the 16th of July 1918 by the German submarine U54.[3] From 92 officers and men, only 12 survived.[4]
Thomas’s next of Kin was his mother, Annie Leask of 282, Springburn Rd, Springburn, Glasgow. He was buried with military honours.
