Limavady (St. Mary) Roman Catholic Cemetery
The foundations for St. Mary’s church were laid on the 15th August 1836 after the site was given to the people “forever” by a well-known local man called John Alexander. It would remain largely as it is until closed from 2008 to 2009 for major restoration work, during which it was found to be in bad disrepair. Much of the original which was thought to be stain glass windows turned out to be only painted on and were lost during the work. There are 7 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-1945 war here
