Macosquin (St. Mary) Church of Ireland Churchyard

Macosquin (St. Mary) Church of Ireland Churchyard
The earliest record of a church on this land was in 1622, it was consecrated by the Bishop of Derry and was provided by the Merchant Taylor’s of London. The north wall of the present church is the same north wall of an Abbey that had been there from 1172 to 1532 before it fell into disrepair. There are 3 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-1918 war and 1 of the 1939-1945 war here.
