Engine Room Artificer 4th Class William Raynor was the son of William Peter Raynor and of Letitia Agnes Raynor (nee Reid); husband of Margaret Roberta Raynor, of Heamoor, Penzance, Cornwall.
William passed away in the Waterside Military Hospital, Londonderry after suffering from tuberculous meningitis which was caused by pulmonary tuberculosis.[1]
His ship H.M.S. Roxborough[2] was a destroyer that was built in 1918 and was originally owned by the United States (then called USS Foote.) It had only arrived in Londonderry in March 1941 under the loan/lease agreement between the two governments. No further information is available at present.
