Aircraftman 2nd Class Donald Wallace Kennedy was the son of Samuel Wallace Kennedy, O.B.E. and Rosanna Paton Kennedy, of Kilaloo, Londonderry. He had a B.A. degree from Cambridge University.
Donald passed away from an illness he contracted in Ceylon.[1] He had been suffering with it for 6 months in the Service Hospital in Southampton, England. He had been in the RAF for 2 years.
His mother was with him when he succumbed to his illness, and his father joined her soon after. He was buried on the 15th Match 1946.
