Devine, P (Peter)

Private Peter Devine was the son of Edward and Matilda Devine, of Londonderry; husband of Ellen Devine, of Londonderry.
Peter was a reservist called up at the beginning of the war into the A.M.P.C.[1] One day after his death it was renamed the Pioneer Corps.
It is presently unknown what his cause of death was, but it happened in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.
Peter was awarded the Military Medal, but not while serving with the A.M.P.C. He received it during the Great War while serving with the 9th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He had landed in France with his battalion on the 22nd of January 1915 and remained with them until 26th February 1919 when he was demobbed.
He may have also been awarded the 1914/15 Star, the British War and Victory Medals.
Surprisingly no further information is available.
